“The Boys” Season 4 Details and Updates (for May 2024)

The young landed five years ago a freight train And is still difficult with each successive season. The superhero-stomping series always manages to walk on the edge of the envelope and always Go too far, but never veer off course, and that’s a credit to Eric Kripke and his creative team, who know exactly how to navigate Garth Ennis’ source material.

When was the last time you voluntarily started streaming a DCEU or MCU film? Exactly. Satire may be largely dead in the real world, but this show knows how to implement it in this much-needed context. Homelander is about to become even more terrifying, and Billy Butcher is now sacrificing everything to take him down. This rivalry never gets old, and maybe neither will Butcher, considering what he’s done to himself. Nonetheless, the perfectly timed series delivered exactly the quantity needed while maintaining the (highly tasteless) quality at every turn.

It won’t take too long The boys: Mexico then adds to the equation Gen V kept the brand strong and Devilish some (animated) backstories filled in. Without any more nonsense (as Butcher would say), let’s get to the damn thing of season four.

Plot

First of all: Do you have to watch? Gen V before returning to the main attraction? Only if you love yourself. Watching the latest spin-off is recommended, but you won’t be completely lost if you only know the Homelander and Butcher season finale cameos. including this gem one moment:

Viewers will remember that Homelander rendered Marie unconscious. She woke up in a medical facility along with most of the other Supes in training, and they will likely be exiled to The Woods. While Kate and Sam have been crowned the “Guardians of Godolkin” and will appear in this season The young while Homelander officially does the rest The seven in “angry gods” instead of celebrities in spandex. And joining the Seven (replacing the defected Starlight and the “dead”/retired Queen Maeve) will be Firecracker, who will somehow be worse than Stormfront, and Sister Sage, who apparently did Persuasivenessperhaps even to Homelander’s ultimate detriment?

We will see.

Butcher, for his part, has to persuade the boys to do so trust him again and will apply what he has learned (in Gen V (End credits scene) about the creation of a Supe-killing virus against Vought International. He probably intends to destroy the Seven, and of course he has a long-standing (and entirely justified) vendetta against Homelander. Becca’s son Ryan is now fully on his biological father’s side, so Butcher may still be treading carefully on that front. Maybe Ryan will be Butcher’s Achilles heel again.

Whatever happens, expect plenty of mayhem (more exploding heads, please), blood and dongs. The show’s lead VFX wizard, Stephan Fleet, promised to deliver: “I’m excited for the cast of @TheBoysTV to see the crazy shit I come up with in VFX! You really put a lot of trust in me.” Get ready and remember, Homelander can still do it Whatever the hell he likes although, yes, he will be brought to justice, as the show begins about a month after the events of Gen V. To bring order to the plot, let’s take a look at the synopsis:

(T)he world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer to the Oval Office than ever before, under the muscular thumb of Homelander as he consolidates his power. Butcher, who only has months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his job as leader of the Boys. The rest of the team is fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they must find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.

We can expect most of the usual suspects to return. Unfortunately, that doesn’t include Dominique McElligott, although one has to be happy that Queen Maeve finally has the freedom to spend her lesbian retirement on a beautiful farm somewhere. Jensen Ackles has no idea he’ll return as Soldier Boy, but that’s always a possibility in the future while he’s “on hold” so to speak.

A big new addition this season is Jeffrey Dean Morgan (wishlisted by fans due to his performance). Supernatural (Run with Kripke), who squeezed into his mysterious role – which still feels like Tek Knight, though Gen V has already given us a Tek Knight (Derek Wilson) in this universe – between The Walking Dead: Dead City shoots. Additionally, two new Supes, Sister Sage (Susan Heyward) and Firecracker (Valorie Curry), will help bring Homelander’s “angry” vision to life, and Ryan Butcher will continue to be portrayed by Cameron Crovetti.

Those set to return on the Supe side include Starr as Homelander, Chace Crawford as The Deep, Jessie T. Usher as A-Train and Nathan Mitchell apparently as the new Black Noir. The vigilantes now include Erin Moriarty as Annie January/Starlight, Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk, Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko and Tomer Capone as Frenchie.

On the sidelines, Claudia Doumit (now established as a bloodbender) plays Victoria Neuman, who is getting closer and closer to ruling the “free” world. And in the middle of it all, Colby Minifie will star as Ashley.

Release date

June 13th is when the magic happens. Expect three episodes to drop that day, followed by weekly episodes taking the world through July 18th. As the main character of “Supebuster,” Billy Butcher declared, “Oi, we’re fucking back.” From there, the wait for the second one begins Gen V season, although filming was pushed back a few months due to script revisions Chance Perdomo’s death.

However, don’t forget The boys: Mexico is also in progress.
