Queen’s 2024: Jack Draper beats Carlos Alcaraz in London

New British men’s number one Jack Draper continued his memorable week with a remarkable win over Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz at Queen’s.

The 22-year-old Draper won 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 over defending champion Alcaraz in the second round.

The 21-year-old Spaniard Alcaraz fended off three match points at 5-2 before Draper served out at 0-30, to the delight of the enthusiastic home crowd.

The victory against the world number two, who won the French Open earlier this month, is the biggest win of Draper’s career in terms of rankings.

He also ended Alcaraz’s streak of 13 consecutive victories on grass.

The remarkable scalp comes after Draper first ATP title of his career at the Stuttgart Open on Sunday.
