Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Prediction – Brooks Koepka at 20/1
Dunhill Links always attracts a strong field and this edition of the DP World Tour’s only Pro-Am is perhaps better than ever with the presence of Rahm and McIlroy, two of Europe’s best golfers.
Staged across two open venues at the St Andrews Old Course and the modern links of Carnoustie and Kingsbarn, the Dunhill Links field will rotate across three venues over the initial three days before the final round takes place at the Old Course.
The top two in the betting have both hit the crossbar recently – McIlroy was runner-up at the Irish Open and the BMW PGA Championship, while Rahm was defeated in a playoff by fellow Spaniard Angel Hidalgo at his national Open on Sunday.
While his claims are obvious, another top-tier rival appeals at more generous odds in the form of Brooks Koepka, who was ninth at the 2014 Dunhill, runner-up in 2015 and eighth in 2018.
Koepka, returning to the tournament after six years, has named the Old Course as his favorite venue in the world and will be attending this week after finishing first and sixth in the last two LIV regular-season events.
He may not share the links pedigree of his main rivals, but he has finished in the top ten of the Open Championship on four occasions and looks a major threat to the favourites.
Sanderson Farms Championship Winner Prediction – Patrick Fishburne at 33/1
Highly-rated players including Sergio Garcia and Sam Burns have won the Sanderson Farms Championship in recent seasons, but the PGA Tour’s reorganized Fall Series has created a lower-quality field this time.
The Country Club of Jackson, a tree-lined Mississippi venue, is ripe for low scoring and that’s likely to be the case again this week. All types of players have won this tournament but precise approach and hot putter lead to equal success.
The best bet may be Patrick Fishburne, who has shown consistent recent form with results of 15-3-6-MC-3 from his last five starts.
One of the longest-serving drivers on Tour, Fishburne’s recent improvements in his approach play and putter in hand have led him to become a regular PGA Tour contender. He should not be afraid of anyone at the beginning of his course.
