Morgan Wallen and Post Malone perform “I Had Some Help” at Stagecoach
Morgan Wallen Had some help closing it Stagecoach with kind permission from Post Malone.
Wallen, 30, took the stage in Indio, California on Sunday, April 28, headlining the third and final night of the Country music festival. It was a performance full of fan favorite songs and guest appearances with Wallen’s friends Hardy, Bailey Zimmerman, Serious And Erik Church I came out to perform with the “Last Night” singer.
To cap off the evening and Stagecoach weekend, Wallen did something special: He brought 28-year-old Malone along to sing “I Had Some Help,” an unreleased song that the two have been heavily touting on social media for months .
Fan footage of the performance showed Malone starting the song and singing his verse before Wallen took over his part. The two then sang the final part together. After playing the song in public for the first time, the two friends hugged. Then Malone left, leaving Wallen to finish his encore.
While the debut of “I Had Some Help” was a surprise, Malone’s performance at the country music festival was no surprise. On Saturday 27 April he played Stagecoach and delivered a ‘special series of country covers’ including: Toby Keithis “Who’s your daddy?” Randy Travis‘ “Three wooden crosses” and George Strait“Check yes or no.”
Dwight Yoakam came out to perform his song “Little Ways” and Sarah Evans accompanied Malone on a version of her song “Suds in the Bucket.” Brad Paisley came out for three songs and helped Malone cover “I’m Gonna Miss Her.” Vince Gillis “One More Last Chance” and Alan Jacksonis “Chattahoochee.”
Malone who is is preparing his first country albumHe teased “I Had Some Help” ahead of his Stagecoach performance by posting a TikTok video of himself singing along to the track. “It’s not like I can make this kind of mess all by myself,” Malone sings. “Don’t act like you didn’t help me get the bottle off the shelf. I was in deep every weekend if you couldn’t tell. They say teamwork makes the dream come true. Damn, I had help.”
Morgan first teased the song in December 2023 a now deleted video. Malone posted a clip of the song in March, seemingly referencing the raw footage Wallen had shared. “Let’s get the mix right this time,” he said as he tagged his friend.
