Adam Zampa comes in the middle, and he has five balls to face in this over.

The first ball is defended directly on the pitch. Zampa is gone! He goes for one over the top and it is caught comfortably by Livingstone.

Hazlewood supports Starc in the middle.

Points are being scored here…and Jack is making a mistake which could have turned into a run out opportunity. A well-timed drive from Abbott is stopped by Liam Livingstone’s diving tackle through the middle.

Abbott does well through the middle of the next and it lands just over the rope for six. He tries to play another big innings and is caught by the backpedaling Livingstone and has to depart for just 10 runs.

Australia 101-6 (17) Carey 5, Abbott 1, Carsey 3-36 (6) – need 212 runs to win

Carse will continue to bowl from the nursery end, his sixth over underway. He tries to play the short ball but it is too short and is rightly called a wide.

Australia have come into their own after the loss of wickets and are no longer trying the counter-attacking method adopted by Smith and Maxwell, who have both retreated to the dressing room.

Abbott gets a run but it’s an awkward outside edge that is too wide to slip.

Australia now have a huge rebuilding job to do to get even closer to getting something out of the game.

But Maxwell is gone! He went for a big swipe and was caught from behind! Another wicket falls and Australia are really struggling here.
