WI vs SA Pitch Report: West Indies are set to host South Africa in the second Test match starting Thursday, August 15 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. Both teams will be aiming for a win to level the two-match series after the first Test in Port of Spain ended in a no result.

West Indies are looking for their first Test win against South Africa since 2007 and only their fourth win in 33 total encounters. The Proteas dominated the rain-affected first match, but the Caribbean side proved they are not going down without a fight in the next match.

Young pacer Shamar Joseph is expected to return to West Indies’ playing XI while Temba Bavuma’s side could recall fast bowler Nandre Burger after going with an extra batsman for the Port of Spain Test.

WI vs SA, Providence Stadium Pitch Report

The surface at the Providence Stadium is conducive for bowling, but this will be the first Test match played at this venue since 2011. Only two Test matches have been held at this venue where teams batting first have won. The surface usually offers a good amount of help for the fast bowlers with extra seam and bounce, but spinners can also expect wickets.
