Tour Championship and British Masters Golf Tips 1,425/1 with Double

The 2024 PGA Tour season will conclude this week with the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia, where Sunday’s champion will take home the $25 million FedEx Cup winning prize.

There’s also DP World Tour action on these shores, as the British Masters returns to the Belfry for the fourth consecutive season, with Tyrrell Hatton one of the big names in contention.

Racing and Football Outlook’s golf tipster Joe Champion has looked at both events and has produced a massive 1,425/1 Winners Double which should be backed as an each-way bet.

We have used bet365 for the prices and new customers can take advantage of their sign-up offer using the button below.

Tour Championship Winner Prediction – Sam Burns 30/1

The top 30 teams in the FedEx Cup standings will head to Atlanta to play in the PGA Tour’s final tournament of the season, the Tour Championship, where the starting-stroke system will once again be in effect.

Scottie Scheffler, ranked number one on the points list after a stellar year, will start the tournament at 10 under, while Xander Schauffele is behind him at 8 under.

Hideki Matsuyama and Keegan Bradley, winners of the first two FedEx Cup Playoff events, are three and four shots back, respectively, while the rest of the players are five to ten shots behind the leader.

Winner of seven titles this year including the Players Championship, Masters and Olympics, Scheffler is a strong favourite for the event but has twice failed to top the event, finishing second to Rory McIlroy in 2022 and sixth to Viktor Hovland last season.

Though he is less than a month removed from winning Olympic gold, he finished 33rd out of 48 at last week’s BMW Championship, suggesting Scheffler can be beaten, although he has not finished in the top ten in 72-hole scoring in his last three visits to East Lake.

Schauffele, who is in good form and starting second on the grid, is the obvious choice, but it is Sam Burns who has caught the attention of punters on both sides.

The Louisiana player started six shots behind at the Tour Championship, but McIlroy won from the same position in 2022 and Sungjae Im also started from the same score and finished one shot behind the Northern Irishman.

Burns finished tied for ninth at the Tour Championship last season, shooting the fourth-best 72-hole score, and has been in superb form the past two weeks, finishing fifth at St. Jude and runner-up at the BMW.

British Masters Winner Prediction – Matteo Manassero 45/1

Tyrrell Hatton has rightly staked a claim as favourite at the British Masters after a string of solid efforts on the LIV Tour, but the Buckinghamshire man, who goes in search of ranking points at the Belfry this week, is considered the underdog in a competitive field.

Other players to consider include Matteo Manassero, who is getting back to his best form.

The Italian has returned to the spotlight this year, winning the Johnson Workwear Open in South Africa in March and reestablishing himself as a regular contender on the DP World Tour.

Though he doesn’t hit shots with as much precision off the tee as he once did, Manassero is a Wentworth champion who should enjoy the tight confines of the Brabazon course, where accuracy trumps brute power.

The 31-year-old Venetian finished 18th at the Olympics last time out and is now entering a season where he can really make a splash.
