Group B members, Team Falcons defeated L1GA team and Gmin Gladiators.
Slovakia’s Oliver “Skitter” Lepko averaged 10.5 kills, 1.5 deaths, and 17.0 assists, leading Team Falcons to a 56-minute victory on red before securing a 43-minute victory on green against the L1GA team.
Against Gmin Gladiators, Team Falcons got an average of 13.0 kills, 2.5 deaths, and 18.5 assists from Russia’s Stanislav “Malar1ne” Potorak while winning in 28 minutes on red and 61 minutes on green.
L1GA team and Team Spirit also topped Group B on Sunday, topping Nounce Esports and Aurora Gaming respectively. Gamine Gladiators and Team Spirit played out a 1-1 draw.
The $1 million Dota 2 event began with 12 teams divided into two groups for round-robin play. Group matches are all two maps. The top four teams from each group will advance to the double-elimination playoff, which begins on Wednesday. The bottom two teams in each group will be eliminated.
Playoff matches will be best-of-three until the Grand Final, which will be best-of-five. The champion will receive $400,000 and the runner-up will receive $200,000.
There were five Group A matches on Sunday, three of which ended in 1-1 draws. Tundra Esports and Yakult Brothers won, with Tundra defeating MOUZ 2-0 and Yakult doing the same to Talon Esports.
Team Liquid were involved in two matches in Group A on Sunday. Yakults Brothers and MOUs were also tied at 1-1.
