Passion for sports involves many complex emotions. We all understand that.
The ups, downs and the moments in between are part of the journey of cheering for any team, even all-time teams. Ask fans of the Kansas City Chiefs or Golden State Warriors if Every day This situation has been pleasant for them during their respective dynasties.
That is the positive end of the spectrum though and as a Dallas Cowboys fan I can tell you that life is just as tough on the other end, except without the ultimate payoff. Sometimes as sports fans, in the case of the Cowboys, we are left with one real thing to cling to and that is the triviality of sports. It is a real thing and if you don’t believe me just watch the upcoming first weekend of college football and see it played out in absolute brilliance.
In an effort to better understand this phenomenon I decided to ask one of the greatest college football players of all time, former Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III. RGIII was kind enough to join me on the Blogging the Boys YouTube channel this week (you can watch our conversation below) in a conversation about the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott and, yes, the narcissism of sports.
You may be asking how narrow-mindedness came about? Allow me to explain.

I told RGIII that I only have a sports fanaticism, given the current state of the Dallas Cowboys, so I needed to know how I could hurt the Philadelphia Eagles with the bar I had. He suggested taking as small a bite as possible, which is a difficult task when it involves a Snickers bar.
Obviously I have to try. But I know I will fail. Just like my Dallas Cowboys.
