real Madrid The men’s club of the year was named at the Ballon d’Or awards on Monday night, but there was no one to collect the trophy as the Spanish giants rejected the prestigious ceremony in Paris, saying they were insulted.

In a statement reported by Spanish newspaper AS, the club said: “If the award criteria do not point to Vinicius as the winner, the same criteria should point to (Dani) Carvajal as the winner.
“Since this was not the case, it is clear that the Ballon d’Or does not respect Real Madrid. “Real Madrid does not go where it is not respected.”
Vinicius, 24, was favorite to win the award ahead of his team-mate Jude Bellingham and Manchester City’s Rodri after helping Real to the Champions League-La Liga double.
Mbappé and Kane shared the Gerd Müller Trophy, as both players finished the previous season with 52 goals, but only Kane was present to collect the award.
“Thank you to my club Bayern Munich, all my staff, team-mates for helping me score all the goals I have scored,” England The captain said. “It’s an honor to receive this award from a club legend (Karl-Heinz Rummenigge), thank you very much.”
There was little surprise when the Copa trophy – awarded to the best male player under the age of 21 – went to Barcelona’s teenage star Yamin Lamel.
