Raksha Bandhan 2024: PM Modi, President Murmu wish ‘good luck’, request ‘ensure safety of women’

Today the whole country is celebrating Raksha Bandhan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted the countrymen on this festival of brother-sister bond. Prime Minister Modi extended his greetings in a post on X and expressed hope that this festival will bring happiness, prosperity and good fortune to them.

He wrote, “Heartiest greetings to all the countrymen on the sacred festival of Raksha Bandhan, a symbol of the infinite love between brother and sister. May this holy festival bring new sweetness in the relationships of all of you and bring happiness, prosperity and good fortune in life.”

President Draupadi Murmu also wished all citizens a Happy Raksha Bandhan on the official X handle of the President.

“On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all the countrymen. This festival, based on the feeling of love and mutual trust between brothers and sisters, creates a feeling of affection and respect towards all sisters and daughters.”

The President emphasised on mutual trust and affection between brothers and sisters and urged everyone to respect women and pledge to ensure their safety.

President Murmu wrote on Twitter, “On this festival day, I would like all the countrymen to take a pledge to ensure the safety and respect of women in our society.”
