Preeti Pal wins bronze in T35 200m, her second medal at Paris Paralympics

India’s Preeti Pal on Sunday (September 1, 2024) won the bronze medal in the women’s 200m T35 category with a personal best time of 30.01 seconds, her second medal of the Paris Paralympics.

The bronze medal won by 23-year-old Preeti was also India’s second para-athletics medal at the Paris Games.

The T35 classification is for athletes who have coordination impairments such as hypertonia, ataxia and athetosis.

On Friday (August 30, 2024), she won the first athletics medal for India in a Paralympics track event, winning a bronze in the women’s T35 100m event with a personal best timing of 14.21 seconds.

All of the athletics medals India has won since the 1984 Paralympic Games have come from field events.
