Last season’s top two teams will face off in a crucial encounter on Sunday, with Arsenal looking to beat Manchester City and move to the top of the table. The Gunners put up a big challenge against bitter rivals Tottenham last week, but can they get the three points against the champions?

Ahead of the big Super Sunday game, I’ve picked a 116/1 Ultimate Bet Builder which includes five selections for the clash. This tip is priced with Betfair and new customers can take advantage of their fantastic introductory offer via the banner below!

Man City vs Arsenal Ultimate Bet Builder

Erling Haaland to score any time

Haaland may not have scored against Italian champions Inter Milan in midweek, but he has performed incredibly well this season, scoring nine goals in four Premier League appearances. He has scored five goals in two games at the Etihad and is clearly making the most of his summer break.

The forward is a great anytime goalscorer on Sunday. Although he didn’t score against the Gunners last season, Haaland has scored against them home and away in 2022/23, so he starts our Ultimate Bet Builder.

David Raya made 4+ saves

After his brilliant double save in midweek, David Raya will be busy once again this weekend. The former Brentford man has saved 14 of the 15 shots he has faced in the Premier League this season, making an average of more than three saves per game.

The visit to the Etihad is likely to be Raya’s busiest outing of the league campaign, as City had 72% of the ball and 12 shots in the meeting between the two in March. City have started more consistently going forward and they are averaging six shots on target per game. Raya is a great shot stopper, so back him to make at least four saves.

Manuel Akanji will attempt 90+ passes

As mentioned, City dominated possession in home encounters between these two last season. They made 700 passes compared to Arsenal’s 269. The Gunners have allowed both Tottenham and Atalanta to have the majority of possession last week, so expect their clash with City to be more of the same.

Possession of the ball is difficult in any condition, but Manuel Akanji has been a key man on the ball for City and I back him to continue. He has completed at least 90 passes in three of his last four appearances for the Cityzens, while his impressive passing accuracy of 98.4% in the league suggests he will be relied upon time and again.

Akanji has excellent passing statistics in big matches, including over 100 passing attempts in the draw with Inter and Switzerland’s Euro 2024 clash with England. He will get to see a lot of the ball this weekend.

Savinho committed 2+ fouls

Although Arsenal are likely to have limited possession of the ball, they will prove to be a threat on the counter from the wings. This could be a problem for Brazilian winger Savinho, who will be asked to track back no matter which flank he starts on.

The Brazilian has already committed two fouls in a game on two occasions for City. The first of those came on 58 minutes against Manchester United, so the match against Arsenal could test him even more. He has committed three fouls in three league games for City, so the odds of the winger committing two or more fouls are 23/10.

Kai Havertz will be carded

The final selection in this Ultimate Bet Builder is a booking for Kai Havertz, who has escaped the referee’s notebook in the early stages of the campaign. That’s after he committed eight fouls in his first four Premier League games, including three in the trip to Atalanta.

The German was booked 11 times in the league alone for Arsenal last season and picked up 14 bookings in total. In a high-pressure game, Havertz looks like a great bet to receive a card.
