Drake May’s impressive preseason came to an end on Sunday.

The new quarterback from the New England Patriots posted 126 passing yards and a touchdown on 13 of 20 passing, as well as 17 yards on three rushing attempts against the Washington Commanders.

After another good game from Maye at the pre-season finale, NFL fans gave high praise to the No. 3 overall pick.

While Maye exited the game with a 7-0 lead at halftime, Washington scored 17 points in the fourth quarter to win 20-10.

Following Sunday’s preseason finale, Maye finished the preseason with 192 passing yards and a touchdown while playing a limited role in three games.

The North Carolina player looked NFL-ready when he first competed in the pros, now the question is whether he can help the Patriots turn things around in his first season.

In the midst of another stellar performance from Maye, his QB1 opponent Jacoby Brissett exited the game early with a shoulder injury. The severity of that injury is still unclear, but if he has to stay out any longer it would mean Maye will have to miss the game as well.
