Notre Dame WR Jordan Faison (ankle) out 1-2 weeks

Notre Dame wide receiver Jordan Faison suffered a sprained right ankle Saturday against Texas A&M and will miss one to two weeks, coach Marcus Freeman said Monday.

Faison had two catches for 12 yards and also handled punt returning duties in the No. 7 Fighting Irish’s 23–13 win over No. 20 Texas A&M.

Faison, who began his Notre Dame athletic career as a lacrosse player, joined the football team last year and began playing wide receiver. He finished 2023 with 19 catches for 322 yards and four touchdowns in seven games, with touchdown receptions in each of his final three games of the season.

He was the Sun Bowl MVP after catching five catches for 115 yards and a score in the Fighting Irish’s 40-8 win over Oregon State.

Notre Dame has a home game against Northern Illinois on Saturday, and then visits Purdue on Sept. 14.
