Noni Madueke insists Chelsea are a great place to be despite ‘exaggerated’ noise about ‘great man’ Enzo Maresca’s team
Chelsea winger Noni Madueke says the negative talk surrounding the club is ‘exaggerated’ as he has appreciated life under Enzo Maresca so far.
The Blues’ transfer window activity has made headlines this summer, with several big names heading for the exits.

A number of players have been training away from the first team as they struggle to break into the matchday squad.
But Madueke says things are not as chaotic as is being made out to be.
The winger, who has made it into the senior England squad for the first time for this month’s internationals, told talkSPORT: “Of course, what you guys see from the outside is a bit exaggerated.
“Of course, it’s a great place to be in the building, to be around. But of course, there’s a lot of things going on with all the signings, turnovers and stuff.
“But as a football player your job is to perform well on the field.
“You can’t look at all the things that are going on outside, you have to keep yourself focused, and try to play your best football when you’re called upon.
“That’s what I try to do.”

But the Italian, who led Leicester back to the Premier League last season, has got his team selection right so far – and Madueke is enjoying playing under him.
The 22-year-old said: “He is a great person, a very good manager, a great strategist. He is helping me a lot with my game and the little details.
“Things you don’t think about yourself. I always think a good manager will say ‘this will help you score more, this will help you stay behind more’, things like that.
“Little things like that really help.”
It was a mixed start to the campaign for Chelsea, suffering a 2–0 defeat. Manchester CityBeat Wolves 6-2 and drew 1-1 crystal Palace,
Madueke has performed brilliantly under Maresca, scoring four goals this season – three of which came against Molineux.
One star who is already thriving this season is Cole Palmer,
After a stellar start to the season for the Blues last season, Palmer has continued his impressive form, scoring a goal and assisting on four goals so far.
Madueke and Palmer have played together for a number of years before the latter arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer where he put in impressive performances for England’s Under-21 team.
And the winger says the experience between the two is working wonders for him at Chelsea.
“We’ve been playing with each other for eight years and I think we’re playing in exactly the same position as we are right now,” he said.
“It’s great that he’s my teammate and we have a good relationship off the field, but on the field we know each other’s game.
“It’s easy to play with someone like that because he knows what you like to do and I know what he likes to do.”
“We have a good rapport and that will continue for a long time.”
