The Fenesta National Tennis Championship is scheduled to take place from September 30 to October 5 at the DLTA complex.
The first week will see competitions for men, women and under-18s. The following week, as has been the case for years, will see competitions for boys and girls under-16 and 14.
However, apart from the ITF junior events, there are no international events for men and women in the Indian tennis calendar.
Anil Dhupar, general secretary of the All India Tennis Association (AITA), had indicated that the next international events for men and women would be held from September.
Until March, Indian tennis had a number of Challenger tournaments, a WTA event and a number of ITF events for men and women.
After that, the elite of Indian tennis were busy competing all over the world and trying to build on the successes of the international events held at home.
