The Dallas Cowboys’ 2024 season is shaping up to be a real head-scratcher.

Their latest loss, a 47–9 drubbing by the Detroit Lions, has left fans and pundits alike wondering what went wrong in Big D.

The game started with a glimmer of hope, but it quickly turned into a familiar nightmare for the Cowboys faithful.

From kick-off until the final whistle, the Lions dominated every aspect of the game, while Mike McCarthy’s side continued their struggles on home soil.

This wasn’t just any defeat – it was a 38-point shellacking that is now the worst ever loss at AT&T Stadium and in the Jerry Jones era.

You would think that a loss like that would make Jerry want to shake things up. Some people are also demanding McCarthy’s head. But Jerry? He’s singing a different tune.

David Moore of the Dallas Morning News reported on Jarry’s comments after the game.

When Jerry was asked about a possible coaching change, he said without mincing words: “I haven’t even considered it. “I’m not considering that, so you’re in the clear.”

When reminded that he had made changes midway through the first season, Jerry became furious. “Do you think I’m stupid?” He hit back about addressing hypotheticals. “I’m not.”

Still, the Cowboys have some serious soul-searching to do. McCarthy’s job security is now naturally in question.

Jerry began the season knowing it was McCarthy’s contract year, so this conversation was bound to come up sooner or later.

If the team doesn’t right the ship soon, expect this theme to continue throughout the season.

Will Jerry stick to his word about McCarthy? only time will tell. But one thing is for sure – the pressure is on for Team America, and time is ticking.
