The New York Knicks made two of the biggest splashes in the league this offseason.
It all started when they gave up multiple options to get running back Mikal Bridges along with Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart.
Then, they doubled it by trading for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo to acquire Karl-Anthony Towns.
Towns is under contract for a few more years, but Bridges will soon be eligible to sign a contract extension.
Still, ESPN insider Bobby Marks reports that there are no plans to make a deal at the moment (via New York Basketball).
“The indication I’ve got…is that there’s not going to be an extension (right now)…wait till then…next year, he could get a 4-year extension…definitely Can change…”

Speaking to Brian Windhorst, Marks claimed that his sources have told him that Bridges will have to wait another year before getting a new contract.
And while things could certainly change, he would be eligible to get a four-year contract extension.
To ensure that the team remains competitive in the years to come, Jalen Brunson took a large pay cut on his recent extension.
Notably, some rumors claim that Bridges is going to take a similar approach when it comes time to sign, but that’s all just speculation at the moment.
The ‘Nova Knicks are one of the league’s biggest feel-good stories, and it would be nice to see them win an NBA championship together after doing so in college.
With Towns in the Big Apple, it feels like the Knicks have become the biggest threat to the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference.
