Luke Humphries won his first Players Championship title of 2024 by defeating Stephen Bunting in Wigan.
The PDC world champions, who won their first World Series title in August, came back from 7–6 down to win 8–7 and Bunting finished runner-up for the third consecutive night.
“It was important for me,” said Humphreys, 29. “You go through spells where you’re playing great darts, and then you go through spells where you can’t buy wins, and that can happen.
“I’m dedicated to this game and I know I can move up the levels to higher and higher levels, but it’s important to gain a little confidence from somewhere.”
