Huge 1,065/1 double tip each way for this week’s golf

The DP World Tour returns to continental Europe this week for the Open de France, held at its traditional Le Golf National home, just two months after hosting the Olympics at the same venue.

The PGA Tour, meanwhile, will break new ground with the Black Desert Championship, the first tournament to be held in the state of Utah since 1963.

Racing and Football Outlook Golf tipster Joe Champion has taken a look at both events to find the each-way double pays a whopping 1,065/1.

Open de France Prediction – Thorbjorn Olesen at 25/1

BMW PGA Championship winner Billy Horschel has extended his European autumn holidays to include the Open de France and has been selected as the favorite at Le Golf National.

The Albatros course, located just south of Paris, is hosting the event for the 30th time. It is a tight, punishing track with undulating fairways. Success comes from keeping the ball off the tee.

Horschel is suitable for this position, but it has not escaped the attention of bookmakers, so a better option may be to look elsewhere with Thorbjorn Olesen, who was part of the European team that won the 2018 Ryder Cup at this position.

Olesen finished runner-up at the French Open in 2011, third in 2017, 10th at last season’s tournament and 14th at Le Golf National at the Olympics, all while a number of PGA Tour greats finished ahead of him.

The Dane also finished 12th at the Dunhill Links last week, his best result at that tournament since winning the tournament in 2015, and he is set for another bold performance in Paris.

Black Desert Championship Winner Prediction – Michael Thorbjornsson at 40/1

There was a clear lack of star quality on display as the PGA Tour returns to Utah at the Black Desert Championship, where Keith Mitchell is the favorite for the second week in a row.

Mitchell missed a golden opportunity at the Sanderson Farms Championship on Sunday and he will still be thinking about that miss when he takes to the Black Desert, a venue that should prove easy pickings for PGA Tour professionals.

This design by Tom Weiskopf features wide fairways and large greens and will very likely require an ultra-low winning total, which is typically the case at Weiskopf courses such as TPC Scottsdale, which hosts the Phoenix Open. and TPC Craig Ranch (The Byron Nelson).

A hot putter looks essential and promising 23-year-old Michael Thorbjornson, who finished seventh in strokes-gained putts while finishing in the top ten at Sanderson Farms, fits the bill.

A respected amateur who immediately began making an impact in the pro ranks, Thorbjornsson finished runner-up at the John Deere Classic in July when he reached 24 under par.

He is a potential star and his tee length ensures he will get closer to the Black Desert greens from less distance than many of his rivals.
