Tuesday – Bodo/Glimt vs Red Star
After a stellar performance in the Champions League qualifiers, Bodo/Glimt are just one round away from taking on Europe’s top players. They have won six consecutive games at home in this competition, scoring four times in their two home wins in 2024.
Bodo/Glimt have won their last five home matches in all competitions and can take a first-leg lead over Red Star. The Serbian team does not perform well in this competition, so back a home win.
Tip: Win Bodo Glimt
Wednesday – Vitoria Guimaraes vs Zrinjski
Victoria Guimaraes have had a great start to this season, winning all six of their games so far. They have kept a clean sheet in all of those victories, and have enjoyed home and away success in the two qualifying rounds of the Conference League.
Zrinjski have lost the first leg in each of the last two rounds, including a 2-1 defeat to Botev Plovdiv of Bulgaria earlier this month. They will need to take a big step up in quality against Guimaraes and the Portuguese side should prove too strong.
Tip: Vitoria Guimaraes wins
Thursday – KI vs HJK
KI have fallen behind the pace domestically, but recent strong performances in Europe have attracted attention. Last summer they beat Ferencvaros and Hacken before giving Molde a scare in Champions League qualifying.
They won both home Champions League games this summer, while in the previous round of the Europa League they beat Borac Banja Luka at home. Poor away form has relegated them to the Conference League, but they are in a good position to beat a HJK side that has lost four of its last five games.
Tip: KI will win
Friday – Karlsruhe vs Elversberg
Elversberg enjoyed a big win last weekend with a 7-0 win over Borussia Hildesheim in the German Cup. However, they have struggled to find that form away from home in Germany’s second tier.
Elversberg lost eight times last season, while they have not won at the start of the new league campaign. On Friday night they will face Karlsruhe, a team well placed to equal last season’s fifth-place finish. They have taken four points from two games, while they have a run of five wins from six home league matches behind them.
Tip: Karlsruhe will win
Saturday – Stockport v Bristol Rovers
Stockport have made a great start since returning to League One, winning both their matches so far. They have beaten Cambridge and Blackpool with ease, making them consistent promotion contenders.
Stockport’s winning start should continue against Bristol Rovers, who lost 12 times on their visit last season. They have scored just once in their first three games of the campaign and Stockport are good enough to beat them.
Tip: Stockport will win
Sunday – Swansea v Cardiff
These two Welsh rivals have had very different starts to this season, with Cardiff topping the early table. After an embarrassing defeat at Burnley on Saturday, they have lost their opening two Championship games by a combined score of 7-0.
Swansea have bounced back with consecutive home wins after losing 1-0 at Middlesbrough. They beat Gillingham in the cup before a 3-0 win over Preston last weekend. The Swans have won five of the last six meetings between these two teams and could add to Cardiff’s early-season struggles.
Tip: Swansea will win
