Giants fans are growing frustrated with Daniel Jones’ ability to perform in crucial moments.

After Thursday night’s loss to the Cowboys, Jones described his performance as “fine”, but many believed he missed a prime opportunity to rally his team in a high-stakes game.

Being under a microscope when expectations are sky-high is no easy task.

Now, it looks like Jones may have some veteran competition on the horizon.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero dropped a bomb on Monday, reporting that the New York Giants are set to work out CJ Beathard this week.

The 30-year-old quarterback hit the free agent market last month after being signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

However, NorthJersey.com’s Art Stapleton offered some much-needed context.

He cautioned, “Don’t read too much into this from a QB perspective for the Giants.” “I think they worked out with the receivers and they needed a QB. Beathard was available to throw. Jarrett Guarantano worked out for the Giants earlier this month.

With Jones and Drew Lock already on the roster, Monday’s news initially raised eyebrows in the Big Apple.

But it looks like this workout isn’t about shaking up the quarterback room after all.

Beathard’s NFL journey has seen him wear the uniforms of the San Francisco 49ers (2017–2020) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2021–2023).

His career statistics show 3,886 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions in 32 games, including 13 starts. He has completed 60.4% of his passes while suffering 53 sacks.

The Jaguars parted ways with Beathard in late August, citing an injury settlement due to a groin problem.

They chose to cast Mac Jones as Trevor Lawrence’s understudy.
