Pat McAfee has given ESPN’s College GameDay some much-needed life, and all of the panelists have felt more comfortable since he joined the show.
The same can be said for former Alabama head coach Nick Saban, who made a big appearance on the GameDay set on Saturday, much to the surprise of viewers.
The usually mild-mannered Saban had a great time on the show and displayed a much more cheerful personality than he did when he was coaching, most notably when he was discussing the current college football landscape in terms of roster construction and said, βYou guys keep talking about $20 million rosters, you donβt pay the right guys, youβre out of luck.β

Kirk Herbstreit responded, “Congratulations, you just broke the internet,” explaining how much fun Saban’s swearing would bring fans.

The co-hosts and the crowd loved it too, and it’s fun to see Saban having a good time and enjoying his retirement.
The show featured McAfee taking off his shirt, Johnny Manziel coming over, and Lee Corso dressing up as a leprechaun and doing an Irish jig as he picked Notre Dame to beat Texas A&M.
Bill Belichick has also shown more of his personality since McAfee became a regular on the show, and fans are lucky to get better access to these two football minds now that they no longer have to deal with listing teammates all year long.
