Bristol City vs Millwall – Bristol City to win at 1/1 with bet365

Bristol City were held to a 1-1 draw with Hull in the first round of games, but a last minute equaliser denied them maximum points, and on the balance of play they were perhaps unlucky not to win.

A visit to Millwall looks like a good opportunity for the Robins to get their first win of the season. They ended last season with four wins from their last five home league games, while the Lions have been far worse, suffering 10 defeats on the road, and a home win here looks a solid bet.

Carlisle vs Barrow – Carlisle at 27/20 with bet365

Carlisle fans haven’t had much to say over the last 12 months but this weekend they may get the chance to celebrate victory in the Cumbrian derby when their side host Barrow in League Two.

Last season was a disappointing experience for Carlisle, finishing bottom of League One with just 30 points and seven wins.

And on their return to League Two they suffered a 4-1 defeat against Gillingham last weekend.

However, Paul Simpson’s side suffered a poor outing in Kent and could bounce back with a win over Barrow, who are yet to win in ten games since the start of the year.

Aaron Ashley

Bradford vs Salford – Bradford at 3/4 with bet365

Bradford have started this season’s League Two campaign in a similar fashion to how they ended last and the Bantams are favourites to make it two wins from two at home against Salford.

Graham Alexander’s side recorded an impressive 2-1 win in their first match at MK Dons, who were considered title favourites in the fourth tier, and missed out on the playoffs last season despite winning their final five games.

In Salford they will face a team in transition and have a lot to prove, having lost 2-0 at home to Port Vale in their opener and by the same score when they take on Doncaster in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

Sint-Truiden vs Dender – Dender to win at 17/10 with Bet365

Recently promoted Dender are yet to lose in the Belgian First Division A, taking a point from defending champions Union Saint-Gilloise in their first game since returning to the top flight since 2009, before beating Gent away from home and Kortijk last weekend. They can continue their impressive start by visiting Sint-Truiden on Saturday.

The hosts have lost all three of their league matches this season by an aggregate score of 11-2, and have won just one of their last 11 Division I matches.

Joe Casey

Everton vs Brighton – Brighton at 13/8 with bet365

Brighton have spent big money backing new manager Fabian Hurzeler following the departure of Roberto De Zerbi in the summer.

They could get an immediate benefit from this spending when they play against Everton, who will be without their star defender Jarrad Branthwaite due to injury.

Hurzeler impressed at St. Pauli and the Seagulls picked up some impressive preseason results, including a 4-0 win over Villarreal last time out.

After a poor performance last season due to injuries, Brighton could benefit from a fresh start and new blood in the squad and could start the campaign with an away win.

Newport County vs Doncaster Rovers – Doncaster to win at 4/5 with bet365

Doncaster were seen as promotion contenders in League Two after their impressive form last season and have made a superb start to the new campaign. After beating Accrington Stanley 4-1 on Saturday, they won 2-0 over Salford in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

It’s been a tough week for Newport, who lost 3-2 to a Cheltenham side who are likely to struggle this season. A 4-1 defeat to Leyton Orient in the Carabao Cup was another blow and this looks like a tough challenge.

Newport won both encounters last season, but that was before Doncaster’s impressive form. The visitors have won 12 of their last 14 games in the league and will be hoping to put in a good performance against a Newport side who have lost their last nine League Two encounters.
