Dwight Howard had one of the best careers in recent NBA history, yet he doesn’t get enough credit for it.
He was one of the league’s most dominant big men in his prime, and although he didn’t win a ring when he was a star, he’s still an NBA champion.
In particular, he knew what it was like to be on both ends of the spectrum with Los Angeles Lakers fans.
He left the team in a poor position in his first stint, leaving as a free agent after only one season and performing poorly in the playoffs.
However, he returned as a more mature player and played a key role in their championship run in the 2020 bubble season.
That’s why Lakers fans have embraced him, and he now loves them back.
Scoop B Radio’s Brandon Robinson wrote on X, “Dwight Howard says he loves being back in LA and visiting CryptoArena this evening.” “I love it, man,” Howard told me via text message.

Howard has worked with the Lakers several times and was a member of L.A.’s championship team in 2020 along with LeBron and AD.

Howard knew he owed a great debt to the Lakers fans and he repaid it to the best of his ability.
Granted, it would have been great to see him dominate with Kobe Bryant for years, but perhaps their different personalities were why they never got along well.
Howard may enter the Basketball Hall of Fame someday, and even if some fans don’t give him credit, he should be remembered as one of the best big men of his time.
