The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Mets again in the fourth game of the National League Championship Series on Wednesday.
With a final score of ten to two, the Dodgers have scored eight or more runs in three of the four games in the NLCS so far.
The Dodgers will take a three-to-one lead heading into Friday’s fifth game with a chance to make the World Series.
According to Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY on ‘X’, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts says the team is playing as well as any team since he joined the club.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts says the Dodgers are playing as good as any team since he joined the Dodgers:
“It’s hard to remember a team playing better team baseball,” Roberts said.– Bob Nightengale (@BNightengale) 18 October 2024
Roberts has managed the Dodgers since 2016, including two National League pennants and a World Series title in 2020.
For him to say that this team is playing the best baseball he has seen since joining the club is saying something.
The Dodgers haven’t been to the World Series since winning in 2020, and they’re one win away from making a second appearance.
Friday’s game five will likely feature the Dodgers’ top pitcher Jack Flaherty pitching against the Mets’ David Peterson.
Flaherty pitched in the first game of the series, where he pitched seven innings and allowed two hits, zero earned runs, struck out two and struck out six, earning the win.
If Flaherty can repeat that performance on Friday, the Dodgers have a good chance to make the World Series.
The Dodgers are seeking their eighth World Series title in franchise history.
