Australian pacer Pat Cummins becomes the first bowler to record two consecutive hat-tricks at the T20 World Cup during his team’s Super Eights match against Afghanistan.

The 31-year-old dismissed Rashid Khan with the last delivery of the 18th over and then returned to catch the wickets of Karim Janat and Gulbadin Naib in the 20th over to achieve the historic feat.

“It’s crazy to get two wins in a row after playing over 100 games for Australia,” Cummins said during the innings break.

Cummins had scored his first ever hat-trick against Bangladesh by removing Mahmudullah, Mahedi Hasan and Towhid Hridoy in the 18th and 20th overs.

Ironically, Cummins had never scored a hat-trick for Australia before the match against Bangladesh.

However, Cummins’ efforts were in vain as Afghanistan recorded their first victory over Australia, defeating the heavyweights by 21 runs.
