Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder released a statement Thursday night.

During his team’s impressive win over the Denver Nuggets, Holmgren put together an impressive stat line, averaging 25 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 blocks, and 2 steals.

“Holmgren’s star ascension will take the Thunder into a new stratosphere,” Evan Sideri wrote on Friday morning, reminding fans about this performance on the X.

Countless Thunder fans agreed Friday morning.

Holmgren was already a name to watch, especially after his impressive rookie season.

He averaged 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.3 blocks per game in 2023–24.

He was the runner-up for Rookie of the Year and it was clear the Thunder had signed someone special.

Holmgren obviously has a massive amount of talent but one thing that helps him even more is the fact that he plays in one of the best lineups in the NBA.

The Thunder are loaded with many bright stars and because of them, Holmgren’s chances of reaching the Finals are high.

Holmgren works incredibly well with his teammates on the Thunder and it’s clear that everyone on the roster cares deeply about each other.

On Thursday night, he was moving past Nikola Jokic’s dominance, which is a true testament to how much talent he has.

Expectations were high for the Thunder before the season even started, but they will likely be even higher after this first game.

Holmgren missed out on winning the Rookie of the Year title to Victor Wembanyama last season, but he’s probably on his way to his first championship, especially if he keeps playing like this.
