Hideki Matsuyama powered to a stunning birdie-birdie win at the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Sunday and will take his place in the 50-man squad for the BMW Championship, the penultimate event of the PGA Tour season in Colorado.
Castle Pines, once home to The International, has not hosted a PGA Tour event since 2006 but now takes over hosting duties for the BMW, while the DP World Tour and the Danish Golf Championship are also set to take place from Denmark this week.
Racing and Football Outlook’s golf tipster Joe Champion has taken a look at both events and has the odds on an each-way double at 254/1.

BMW Championship Winner Prediction – Collin Morikawa 14/1
Teams that finish in the top 50 in the FedEx Cup standings will compete in the BMW Championship with two things in mind: securing the best possible starting spot at the Tour Championship or ensuring they finish in the top 30, which will earn them a ticket to East Lake next week.
However, the BMW is a valuable prize in its own right and those hoping for the $18 million FedEx Cup bonus know a win at Castle Pines will put them in a much stronger position for next week.
On paper, this Colorado layout designed by Jack Nicklaus is very long. In fact, it’s longer than any other PGA Tour course at 8,130 yards. However, elevation makes yardage deceptive and many winners of The International – a modified Stableford event played from 1986 to 2006 – were among the shorter hitters in the field.
Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele were both very close last week and will be tough to beat any week, but as was the case in Memphis, beating them again could be worth it and this time it’s Collin Morikawa who has caught everyone’s attention at this venue.
The Californian arrives in Castle Pines on the back of some mediocre performances — 24th at the Olympics and 22nd last week — but that has only kept him at a reasonable price.
The 27-year-old has an impressive record on the Nicklaus Course, winning the Workday Charity Open at Muirfield Village in 2020 and twice finishing second in the Memorial Tournament at the same venue, while he also won the one-off Workday Championship at The Concession at Golden Bear in 2021.
Morikawa’s first PGA Tour win came at altitude at Nicklaus’ Montreux Golf Club in the 2019 Barracuda Championship, while his Las Vegas practice base, the Summit Club, is 3,500 feet above sea level, so he should be well-equipped to handle this test.
Castle Pines features hard rough, which puts an emphasis on finding the fairway, and that’s a plus for Morikawa.
Danish Golf Championship Winner Prediction – Bernd Wiesberger 16/1
It is not always easy to tell Rasmus and Nicolai Hojgaard apart and the bookmakers have taken a cautious stance on the duo this week, making them joint favourites to win the Danish Golf Championship at new venue Lubker Golf Club.
Some holes at Lubker are surrounded by trees and others are more open, but the common denominator is that the greens are small, protected by bunkers, so the key to victory can be precise iron play.
Bernd Wiesberger has won the title, formerly known as Made in Himmerland, in both 2019 and 2021, and with plenty of room to look forward to, the Austrian is set to complete a hat-trick on Sunday.
Wiesberger hasn’t won a title since returning from the LIV Tour but he is on a winning streak and finished sixth at the Czech Masters last week after a month-long hiatus.
He ranks fifth in strokes-gained approach on this year’s DP World Tour and is third in this week’s rankings behind Nicolai Hojgaard and Dan Bradbury.
