The Bengaluru Winter Meeting, comprising 24 race days, is scheduled to begin on Friday (November 1) and conclude on March 22, 2025 (Saturday) and will be held mainly on Fridays and Saturdays.
Briefing the media, KA Jagadish (meeting chairman and steward) said the total prize money for the 24 race days is ₹15.47 crore. In respect of local horses, a performance-based incentive of 15% will be credited to the accounts of the respective owner/owners.
64 jockeys, including 10 jockeys claiming allowances, have been issued ‘A’ licenses and 45 jockeys, including eight jockeys claiming allowances, have been issued ‘B’ licenses. 100 jockeys are expected to ride during the season.
24 ‘A’ license trainers are expected to participate and the minimum number of acceptors in respect of races over distances of 1800 meters or more has been restricted to four Iths.
In races involving horses with a rating of 80 and above, the maximum weight is set at 62 kg. The minimum number of acceptors has been limited to five in respect of races for horses rated 80 and over and 60-85, six in respect of 2-year-olds in 2024 and six in respect of 3-year-olds in 2025. The maximum number of entries will remain at 12 for normal races, except for Classic days where the maximum number of runners will be 14.
