Head Coach Enzo Maresca It was announced last week that the situation had changed and there are now plans to include Chilwell in their matchday squad for the third round cup tie after being welcomed back into first-team training.
Asked if the 27-year-old would play, Maresca said: “I think yes. Hopefully we can give him some minutes tomorrow.”
“His idea was to leave here. The moment he’s here, he’s part of the team, he’s training.
“He’ll be in the squad tomorrow and hopefully we can give him some minutes.”
Chilwell’s final competitive appearance was a two-minute role during Chelsea’s 1–0 FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City on 20 April.
He was troubled by hamstring and knee injuries last season and has not played since England’s 2-2 friendly draw with Belgium on March 26.
Maresca plans to make changes to his squad for the visit of an in-form side ranked 64th down the football pyramid.
The Italian urged his other players to make full use of the opportunity.
“They are players who train very well every day but unfortunately I can’t give them the opportunity,” he said.
“For the players who haven’t been getting many chances, tomorrow is a good chance for them to get minutes and hopefully win the game.”
