It takes more than talent and athleticism to succeed in the NFL.
Anthony Richardson is one of the hottest prospects in league history.
He has a cannon for one arm and is tall, strong, fast, and incredibly athletic.
However, this has not translated into good quarterback play yet.
In fact, he currently has the lowest completion percentage in a season among qualified quarterbacks over the past 20 years (via NFL on CBS).
The second-year signal-caller has completed a league-worst 44.4% of his passes this season, surpassing Tim Tebow (46.5%), JaMarcus Russell (48.8%), and JP Losman (49.6%) on that infamous list Is. ,

Needless to say, being in that kind of company is never ideal.
Richardson was always expected to be a project, and missing most of his rookie season clearly didn’t help much.
Then again, even though he’s still very young at 22, scouts who were worried about him in college have the same issues that continue to appear in the pros.
Poor decision making, lack of accuracy and erratic throws have held promising Colts back time and again, and it puts Shane Steichen in a pretty tough position.
On one hand, he could benefit from more time on the sideline and learn from a veteran like Joe Flacco, who might be a better option for the team if they want to win right now.
On the other hand, he also needs as many reps as he can handle in order to grow and develop, as he didn’t have a lot of experience in college either.
The Colts need to make a decision.
