The Los Angeles Lakers aren’t going to wait too long to get LeBron and Bronny James on the court together in Tuesday’s season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Coming on Tuesday’s episode of sports centerESPN’s Shams Charania said it was “very likely” that LeBron and Bronny would become the first father-son duo to play together “in the early going” in an NBA game:
“I’m told it’s very likely, and the Lakers plan to have LeBron James, Bronny James make history as the first father-son duo to be on the court at the same time, and as long as it’s in the game “There’s a possibility of being competitive early in the game and as far as where the Lakers are at the beginning of that game, it’s a fluid game, I think the Lakers are going to want to let that happen in a competitive environment.” No plans have been finalized yet, but the Lakers have spent a lot of time discussing it internally, this has never happened before in the NBA, probably never will again. You think about LeBron James in Year 22. , he’s really talked about it, he’s been talking about it for the last several years and now it’s on the verge of happening tonight.
LeBron and Bronny played together once in the Lakers’ 118–114 loss to the Phoenix Suns in the preseason on October 6.
