Ashley Young (Everton): At the age of 39, Young performed brilliantly at right-back against Ipswich. He was not beaten one-on-one even once, and kept running and running while playing the entire 95 minutes. This performance was testament to how he takes care of himself to continue playing at the top level even at this age.
Joel Veltman (Brighton): He just exudes class and peace. When he was injured a few weeks ago, Brighton struggled without him. He helped his team keep another clean sheet at Newcastle.
Michael Keane (Everton): He has received a lot of criticism from Everton fans over the years. Away from Ipswich he was excellent; Not a single bad tackle, not a single time out of position, and what a goal. An incredible finish with his weaker left foot.
Josko Guardiol (Manchester City): Every time I see this guy he gets better. Six feet tall, strong defender, strong on both feet and likes to tackle. He has also started adding goals to his game. At Wolves he fired a brilliant right-footed effort into the top corner at exactly the moment his team needed it.
