Bengaluru: With Devdutt Padikkal named in the India A squad for the Australia tour, Karnataka have called up KV Aneesh and Abhinav Manohar as additions to the squad for the Bihar tour (October 26 to 29) outside the Ranji Trophy.
After scoring only two points in the first two matches, it is important for the eight-time champions to win this match.
The 23-year-old Anish made his debut last season and played four first-class games, including the Ranji quarterfinal against Vidarbha, where he scored 34 and 40 while batting at No. 3.
30-year-old Abhinav Manohar is yet to make his red-ball debut. The hard-hitting batsman has played 36 T20 and seven List A matches for Karnataka and played for Gujarat Titans in the IPL. Recently, he scored 550 runs at a strike-rate of 194.35 in the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20.
Fast bowler Vidwath Kawarappa is not in the squad as he is recovering from a calf injury suffered during the Duleep Trophy.
