They remain third on 17 points, level with City and one point behind Liverpool, who play Chelsea later today. However both sides have a game in hand on the Gunners.

Villa’s win over Fulham moved them up to fourth on the same points as Arsenal, while Brighton’s 1–0 win over Newcastle moved them up to fifth on 15 points.

Chelsea enter their match against Liverpool in sixth place with 14 points from seven matches. Spurs’ win yesterday took them up to seventh on 13 points, while Newcastle are one place behind on 12 points.

Manchester United eased some pressure on Eric ten Hag with a 2-1 win over Brentford, although they are still 11th with just 11 points after eight games played.

Manchester City have won seven of their last eight Premier League meetings with Wolves, and have scored 25 goals in these games.

City are unbeaten in 30 Premier League games, winning 24 and drawing six. This is their joint-longest run in league history (30 from April 2017 to January 2018). In English top-flight history, there have been only six occasions when a team has played more than 30 matches without losing, the most recent being Liverpool’s 44 games from January 2019 to February 2020.
