The Los Angeles Lakers did not make any impressive roster changes during the offseason, so it will be interesting to see how their current group performs once the 2024-25 NBA regular season begins.
The Lakers are counting on impressive seasons from LeBron James and Anthony Davis, although there are question marks over how head coach JJ Redick will perform in his new role.
Los Angeles struggled mostly during the preseason and its exhibition slate ended with a disappointment after being blown out by the Golden State Warriors.
It wasn’t all bad, however, as the Lakers got another strong performance from rookie guard Quincy Oliveri, who endeared himself to the organization with his play and attitude.
Oliveri made his mark in the preseason win against the Milwaukee Bucks and had another scoring explosion in the loss to Golden State.
Reportedly for his hard work, Oliveri is getting the opportunity to remain with the Lakers on a two-way deal.
,The Los Angeles Lakers are signing Quincy Oliveri to a two-way NBA contract, his agent Darrell Comer told me and (Dave McMenamin).Incredible story for the Lakers’ undrafted rookie Xavier, who earned a spot on the roster after an excellent preseason. The Lakers are waiving center Colin Castleton,” ESPN insider Shams Charania wrote on Axe.

It’s been a remarkable journey for Oliveri, who went from being an undrafted free agent to a two-way player for one of the league’s prestigious franchises.
The organization has done a good job in identifying talent in recent years, and it looks like they could be successful again.
