sport360 We spoke to Dr. Harmik Singh, Founder, Plan B Group, to know about this inspiring incident.

Q. What is going to make the Women’s Race 2024 such a special event?

Women’s Race 2024 is a truly special event, focused on building a strong community. This year, we are raising the bar with increased participation from different nationalities, and we have partnered with various groups to increase support for the event. Our running partners like At The Park have been instrumental in offering training sessions every weekend, ensuring women feel empowered to understand their fitness levels and take that first important step. This movement is about promoting inclusivity and growth, and we’re excited to see how far we can go together.

Q. How did the idea for the largest women-only race event in the UAE come about?

This idea is not just about this point of view of mine; It has always been woven into the fabric of this incredible landscape. The UAE has long supported gender equality, even before it became a widespread movement. Although this initiative did not start with the UAE Athletics Federation, I have ensured that we do not limit ourselves to just Dubai. We’re working on something huge—without limits or boundaries.

This event has grown into an annual celebration that people actually look forward to. And it’s not just about women anymore; Men have also moved forward becoming an essential support system. I see myself simply as a pioneer, a catalyst for this movement. This incident is not mine – it belongs to everyone.

Q. What can attendees expect from this unique event?

I believe that anyone who participates in this race experiences a true feeling of belonging. It’s more than just a race; It is about experiencing true equality and coming together in celebration, with everyone joining hands and supporting each other. Although this is a moment to celebrate women, it is also to show how strong we are as a community when we stand together.

Last year, we brought together people from over 160 nationalities, and this year, we’re raising the bar even higher. It’s about creating a moment of freedom, joy and unity. This is an event you won’t want to miss – it’s all about wins, gains and the incredible journey we’ve shared.

Q. How important is it to create a sense of community for the Women’s Race 2024?

The sense of community is absolutely vital because it’s not just a race – it’s a movement. We’re building something much bigger, with pop-up events almost every month, sometimes four to five events, that bring people together on a regular basis. It’s not just about how many kilometers you run or how far you go. It’s about how much you are contributing to building a platform that champions women in supporting women, sharing knowledge, creating new beginnings and focusing on every aspect of health – physical, mental and emotional .

We’re making sure these important elements are highlighted, so it’s not just about race; It’s about coming together and growing together. That’s why a sense of community is so important – it’s what gives everyone a real sense of belonging.

Q. How is Women’s Run 2024 suitable for runners of all different levels, from beginners to experts?

When someone partners with us, it’s about joining a community, becoming part of a larger group. Even if you’re just starting out, this is the first step toward something you’ll really enjoy being a part of. It’s not just about running; It’s about looking around and realizing that if other people can do it, you can too. It’s all about creating a starting point where everyone eventually reaches the same level, sharing that journey together.

Once you join, you will feel a sense of belonging and become an integral part of this platform. We’re not just about hosting events; We’re about creating a place where everyone feels like they belong and where everyone can grow together.

Q. Plan B will run several programs. Where does the Women’s Race 2024 fit into your portfolio?

This is not just another event for us – it is a passion-driven platform. The women’s race is not something we look at from a business perspective; This is something we really believe in. That is why, despite the many obstacles and challenges we have faced (and continue to face), we move forward with unwavering determination. For us, it is not just about meeting a demand; It’s about staying true to the vision we are all so passionate about.

Q. How important is the support of Dubai Sports Council for Women’s Run 2024?

Support for an event like this is incredibly important, especially when you consider Dubai and the UAE’s approach to women-centric initiatives and gender equality. The platform is the largest of its kind in the region, and as it continues to grow, the support of organizations like Dubai Sports Council is essential. Their involvement helps us reach out to all the people who support us, serving as the cornerstone of our efforts in the sports community.

The support of Dubai Sports Council means a lot – not only from a marketing perspective, but also to foster a sense of belonging. We have seen their true passion for this cause, and they have become equal partners in this journey. It is important for them to see this event not just as a series of activities, but as a community platform that aligns with our shared vision.

Q. What did you want to achieve with Women’s Run?

We want to emphasize that it is not just about us organizing an event; It’s about creating something for the entire community. This event truly belongs to everyone, and for it to flourish, we need to empower others to take up the mantle as torchbearers. This year, we are introducing more women-centric features, and we are committed to breaking stereotypes. It is important for men to step up and support platforms that uplift women.

As President of Women’s Run and Founder of Plan B Group, I strive to lead by example. I am proud to be a man supporting women-centric initiatives. I’m also attending the upcoming first GCC Menopause Summit at the Museum of the Future on 18 October.

Together, we can break down stereotypes and work towards a fair and equal society where everyone has a place. This approach is in line with our inspirational leadership in the UAE, and we are committed to continuing on that path.
