Dubai Open continues exciting start for basketball academies


Sport360 and Sports Mania report on the 2024/25 edition of the Dubai Open for Basketball Academies – DOBA; The best youth basketball league that brings together UAE basketball academies.

The championship is under the supervision of Dubai Sports Council and UAE Basketball Association. DOBA is divided into two sub-leagues: Division 1 and Division 2 for boys and girls and consists of six different age groups: Under-8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 19.

The tournament is played at the Citizens School – Al Satwa and the Swiss International Scientific School – Al Jaddaf.

An exciting Week 1 saw the Under-19 Boys’ Falcons win over Sharjah and the Under-12 Boys’ Mowen win over JAM. On the other hand, JAM U16 boys won the game against JD.

Week 2’s key fixtures saw the Twenty4 Under-16 Boys win over Al Nasr Club and the Falcons Under-14 Boys win over ProBall. As far as the girls are concerned, NBA Basketball Schools Under-12 registered a win over Dubai Tribe and Under-14 JAM Girls added to their record win over the Wildcats.
