Alex Pereira took a big dig at his former rival after his viral cageside reaction to his win over Khalil Rountree at UFC 307.

Alex Pereira has fired back at Jamahl Hill after reacting from cageside to the champion’s win over Khalil Rountree.

Pereira continued his great form as UFC light-heavyweight champion, spanking and restraining Rountree’s newest challenger at the Delta Center.

Potan’s former KO victim Hill was sitting cageside to watch the incident and immediately made it clear that he was in the building.

He yawned while appearing on cameras and screens at the venue, which drew reaction from the crowd and on social media.

This indicated that the powerful star was fighting in a boring style despite finishing the contest in the final stanza.

Pereira responded when asked at the post-fight press conference, telling reporters: “Maybe he just woke up from UFC 300.”

At this, the journalists present in the room burst out laughing, and Perera also smiled sarcastic.

This was a reference to their Octagon meeting, where the Brazilian kicked him out In the very first round of their competition.

He landed a swift left hand that sent his opponent falling to the canvas and Pereira went for ground-and-pound.

Hill had no defense to his continuous shots and the referee stepped in to stop the contest.

This win was certainly a statement and it’s surprising that ‘Sweet Dreams’ was so willing to make fun of Perera.

Despite Rountree’s efforts to undermine the champion’s latest defence, it was another impressive performance.

And Dana White agreed, praising the powerful star’s latest seismic demise.

“What a fight this is, I mean Khalil Rountree is a whole other level of tough fight,” White said.

“He had no fear in the first round, Khalil Rountree went out there and started going right after the bell rang; No fear, no panic, no nervousness – maybe he did, but he didn’t show it.

“He went up there against one of the baddest guys ever and started mixing with him, it was amazing.”

“You have to respect this guy, (but) didn’t it go the way everyone thought?

“At first everyone was like ‘Oh, he’s number eight, blah blah’ but you knew it was going to be a bad fight, you knew it was going to be very bad.

It’s unclear what his next move will be, but a move to heavyweight appears likely get off the table For now.

If Perera advances, he could make history and become a three-weight world champion, but he will need to secure a shot against reigning king Jon Jones.
