Caen scout David Lasry tells the story of how the club almost signed the young Kylian Mbappe.
Lasry recalls being “blown away” by Mbappe’s talent and said he saw him as “a future contender for the Ballon d’Or”.
According to Lasry, Mbappe’s father Wilfried told him that the family had decided to send the young player to Caen, but the deal fell through when the club was relegated from Ligue 1.
