The injuries are piling up for the Philadelphia 76ers.

With Paul George leaving the last pre-season game with a highly extended knee, they are now taking a close look at rookie G Jared McCann.

As shown by Courtside Buzz on X, the Duke product took a huge hit on Wednesday.

He was having trouble breathing and was evaluated for a possible stroke.

Additionally, Sixers coach Nick Nurse revealed that he had to be taken to the hospital after the game vs. the Brooklyn Nets.

The 20-year-old, who was taken No. 16 overall by the Sixers, is an interesting prospect with strong scoring, even though he will spend most of the season playing behind Tyrese Maxey.

Joel Embiid had praised his play and his competitiveness during training camp, and some thought he could have a significant role right out of the gate, even with a veteran like Eric Gordon.

The Sixers’ addition of Paul George makes them stand out as the strongest candidate to dethrone the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference, at least until the New York Knicks trade for Karl-Anthony Towns.

Hopefully, this will be nothing more than a scare, and he’ll be out there and completely healthy for the start of the season and beyond.

The Sixers will travel to Florida for their final preseason game against the Orlando Magic.

They open the season on October 23 against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks, so he will have some time to get back to full strength.
